like Mom and Dad, always looking for a new adventure
in a new place.
When I retired, I became an actress. For the last 12 years,
I have been visiting senior living communities weekly
- dressed up as everything from a flamingo to Davy
Crockett. I am always greeted with smiles - sometimes
very puzzled looks and then smiles. For a while, my
dearest Thelma and I had a traveling troupe, “The Darlin’
Dingalings”. We traveled all over the Panhandle of Texas
doing our show for “Mature Audiences”. When Thelma
died, Gary and I moved to Amarillo.
Since then, I visit seniors at nursing homes weekly, as
well as rehab hospitals and Alzheimer’s facilities all over
the city. Recently, I added Scottie to my act; he’s my little
black poodle that steals the show everywhere we go.
People tell “Crazy Carole” often how they admire what I
do. Heck, no! I love being center stage.
