          Senior Senior

                                   Dear Frank Barra,

…Thank you for everything you did for me and my sister. You cared for us when our
mom had to go to work… because our father abandoned us…We would dress you
up… or demand that you take us to McDonalds... You were always there, being the
                                   best great- grandfather ever.

…I admire you so much. You never gave up on me or my sister like our dad did. You
wanted to spend time with us. Every week, you would pick us up from school and
we would spend the day together. You would let us change the TV channel from
your ball game to Disney and let us choose where we would go to dinner before you
took us home. You were there, and we needed that.

…I will never forget you Pop-pop. Now that you are gone, and I am older, I
understand everything you did for me and our family… I love you and I miss you.

                                   Sincerely, Your Granddaughter
                                   Ashleigh Haughey

                                   Dear Papa,

You have impacted me in so many ways… (I am so) grateful to have you in my life…
You have shown me how a man is supposed to act. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't…
(know) how to fix things, how to change a tire… and fix brakes. I have learned how
to work with wood and metal and even how to weld and grind…

My favorite memories… with you (include) anytime we were fishing and the smile
on your face every time (either) of us caught a fish…You taught me how to be
patient... when the fish aren't biting… Your western movies (inspired) me to get
involved in competitive shooting... Hearing your Amarillo High football stories…
made me want to play for the Sandies, too… Thanks for the many lessons you have
                                   taught me.

                                   Sincerely,
                                   Brendan Silvers
