Dear Grandma,

…You were the one who stepped up and saved me from the hardest times in my
life. When my brother and I were little, we could always depend on you... When
Dad wasn’t there, you were, no matter what was going on... The memories we have
created with you will always stick because, not only are you the person I look up
to, you’re my go to. You have impacted my life in (many) ways. For example, when
Ian was in the hospital, you stayed up there for days, and I stayed home… and took
care of the chores... Nobody really thought about me going to see my brother in the
hospital. But one night, you came home and… and said we were going. On the way
there, we sang, talked, told stories and also prayed. Before we went inside, you gave
me a hug… and told me to be strong, and it was going to be okay because my little
brother was going to fight…! I knew (then) it (really) was going to be okay. You have
taught me things that, if it wasn’t for you, I (might never) have known… I know I
am the woman I am today because of you. I love you.

                                  Dear Uncle Jay,

I am writing this letter to show my gratitude to you… for being one of my role
models... I'm glad you pushed me to be the best… and I’m so blessed to have you...
You’ve been an amazing big brother to my dad and an amazing uncle to me. Curtis
Holman, Jr., you are like a second father to me... I feel like I can talk to you about
anything... I always wanted to be just like you when I was a kid, and now, as an
18-year-old senior, I just want to follow your footsteps. I can't wait to make you
proud of me, (and) I'm working hard to be a role model for Braden and Zachary.

                                  Love,
                                  Kayman Holman

                                  Dear Papa,

I am so grateful for the lessons you taught me that will stay with me for life… You
are one of the most caring and compassionate people I know. You are always willing
to go out on a limb to help people... Thank you for showing me how… to put the
needs of others before my own... You have always been an example of how I should
treat others... You showed me how a man should treat a woman through your
                                  relationship with Granky…

I am so thankful that I have a role model like you… You taught me to always go after
my dreams, and to never stop until I reached them…You always tell me how proud
you are of the woman I am becoming... You reassure me that, even when I mess up,
everything will be okay in the end…Thank you for… loving me unconditionally.
Thank you for making me laugh... I will never forget our tickle fights... I will forever
be grateful…that God brought us together. I love you always.
