But the highest credit Bettie
attributes is to the Lord Himself,
Who blessed her with the talent
to be creative and paint. “I often
name my paintings using Scripture
verses or have a verse engraved to
attach to the frame. For instance, I
did a painting of a cowboy standing
beside his horse in snow, reading
a letter he just pulled from an old
mailbox. The verse, ‘Thy word is a
lamp unto my feet and a light unto
my path’ (Ps. 119:105) adorns the
frame.”
Because of the emotional impact that different kinds of Bettie Haller has had ten of her
weather and various times of the day have on people, paintings made into Christmas cards by Leanin’ Tree
Bettie particularly enjoys developing snow, rain, or dust Greeting Cards, and her work may be viewed at her

Bettie Haller works almost exclusively in oils. Recently,
she has tried pastels and pastel pencils for variation.
She has also branched out in her choice of subject
matter to African wildlife, Italian street scenes, and
portraits. “Variety is definitely the spice of life!”
Bettie credits her father as a great encouragement to
her and “the best critic an artist could ever have.” His
comments helped her improve more rapidly than she
could have on her own. “I have been very fortunate
to have had a teacher like him who could pour
concentrated knowledge about art into me, knowledge
that took him years to discover by trial and error.”
