or dizzy spells, we need to begin watching any
changes that might occur. In some instances, a person
has a diagnosis of depression or dementia, when it
might be a loss of hearing that has caused them to
withdraw.
Hearing loss can be gradual or sudden onset. It is
important that a sudden onset of hearing loss be
checked immediately by a physician, but we also can
be consulted to answer any questions.
Always remember that a corrected hearing loss, unlike
a new set of glasses, is not a change that happens
overnight; it must be treated with patience and time.
The brain must go through a time of rehabilitation,
learning to process sounds in nature and language
that it has not heard in a long time. In many cases, we
do not fit hearing aids with a first-time suspicion of
a loss but rather begin with a basic screening (FREE)
to indicate markers, so we can then notice if changes
occur.
We offer FREE screenings and video ear canal
inspections. Call today for your appointment. Thank
you for trusting us with your hearing health. We feel
our patients are our family.
