Making

                                      WORLD WAR II

                                                                    Steve
                                                                    Bowen

for his turn to protect the nation. His only
regret was that the Air Force spent so much
time and money in training him that they Amarillo
             didn’t get much in return.
                                                                                                                 Kay
When the young man got home, he settled Kuhn
in Clovis, New Mexico with his wife and
son Mike. He began working for the railroad
and stayed with them until he turned 73. He
and Sena had one more son, Ted, before their
happy family endured an unthinkable tragedy
in 1964. Sena was killed in a car wreck, leaving
him with two boys to get through college. For Jim
the next ten years, he concentrated on them. Steve Bryan
                                                                    Seabourn
After they were grown, it was time for him
to start building his life again. Alton began
selling for a manufacturer’s rep company
called “Halo”. He also began to go out dancing
at night. That setting led to a relationship with HAPPY
a new sweetheart named Wanda. They married
in 1981 and remained so until she succumbed
             to cancer in 2015.
Today Alton lives at the Clairmont Assisted
Living Center. His two sons, Mike and Ted,
gave him three granddaughters and two great
             granddaughters.

When asked about why his generation seems
to be so special, he said it was probably David Greg
                                                                              Jones Graham
because of the Depression. “Many hard
lessons were learned, and it made you really
appreciate life and the things you had.” The 3rd
speedy kid from Throckmorton has slowed Best Bank

appreciated the blessings in his life.
